So, like, How much does it cost to build a house in Mexico, anyways?
I am in Spreadsheet heaven.
I find it amusing that some people pay a university to get a paper that says they are expert Project Managers. Why not take that same cash and build something? (I know the answer, of course). Its easy to get a school loan. I can just imagine it…I get in my Sunday Best and head off to the bank to ask for a loan. I have diagrams and spreadsheets… the whole nine yards and the loan officer politely laughs you out the door when they realize your plans to make a giant piece of art.
Well, this Project- that of building a house in a foreign country, is sort of like that.
You can’t get a home loan from a US bank to build a house or buy land. There are a few Canadian banks that will help you if you buy in Canada, but this is a difficult thing, securing a loan. Especially when you quit that amazing job that paid so well so you could come build it in the first place. No matter how amazing your project manager, architect, and civil engineer, no one will look out for your best interests like you will.
So, here I am, living in paradise, spreadsheeting away, without a certificate certifying that I can indeed, manage the purchases, receive supplies, track inventory, and pay employees. But here I am anyways, doing it like a pro. I have even…
